Who is mhysa in game of thrones
Two reasons. Dungeon : Ramsay — The Boy — is chewing with his mouth open. Bastards have such bad table manners. This visual really bothered a lot of viewers. He muses about whether Theon will have phantom limb syndrome. Theon asks Ramsay to kill him. So he gives him a new name. Yes, book-readers, Reek is born. Nightfort : Bran and his companions camp at an abandoned castle along The Wall. Bran tells a ghost story about a man who was condemned for killing a guest beneath his roof and we can only hope the same fate befalls Lord Frey.
Sam promises to do anything to help him. At least Ramsay sent the Greyjoys a nice box to keep it in. Good for her! It seems at least one mutilation had a larger purpose, as sick as it is. Like Davos and Gendry later, they bond over being low-born, which is a bit of running theme in this episode — nobility vs. He gives her a sack of diamonds and tells her get on a ship, start a new life. Take it! Later, Cersei visits drunken Tyrion.
She advises Tyrion give Sansa a child so the girl can have some happiness. Then they have this exchange:. She jumps off the horse. The other times she tried to bully men who found her antics cute.
She seems to sense that. She approaches them differently than her usual bluster, pretending to be harmless, non-aggressive. She offers one of them her coin — this is the iron coin that her assassin-friend Jaqen gave her last season.
When the man goes to grab it, she stab-stab-stabs him. This is a big turning point for Arya. When she poked the kid in the belly in the first season, it was semi-accidental and he was blocking her way from trying to escape. This is different. This is outright murder, and she is remorseless. Luckily, The Hound is there to kill the others. This is also growth.
Throughout the season, Arya has been unable to pull anything over on The Hound without him knowing what she was thinking first. Ygritte draws her arrow. Jon sounds kind of whiny. He also says — and the timing for this is rather good or rather bad, depending on your point of view — that he loves her. She fires an arrow into him as he flees. Then another. And another. She comes up with a name for her baby — Sam. Nice one. Aemon rules that Gilly will stay on as a guest.
Later, a terribly wounded Jon Snow arrives and is reunited with Sam. Jon Snow Kit Harington is not having the greatest of days. As he tries to wash his eagle claw facial gashes no! Not his face! Hell hath no fury like a Wildling scorned. He manages to make it back alive to Castle Black, much to the relief of all the audience members who would not be able to deal with another death and of a character so beloved as J.
They share a common background, coming from Fleabottom, and Davos shares some of his troubles with the young lad dead son, half a hand, crazy boss possessed by a priestess… the usual.
They believe that their faith in the Lord of Light has been rewarded, and Stannis declares he will unite the seven kingdoms with whatever arms he has, including magic and sacrificing young bastards like Gendry. Because Davos believes this to be so completely wrong and evil, he decides to let Gendry go, shoving him off into the sea in a row boat, despite his inability to swim or never having been in a boat.
And then, because he always does the right thing, he tells them he let him go. Melisandre burns the scroll and declares now the real war is in the North. She and her crew are standing at the gates, waiting to see what happened with the slaves. They slowly come streaming out and just stare at her for awhile. She tells them she cannot grant them their freedom because it is not hers to give, it is theirs to take.
For a moment in time at least. What are the major differences from the books and how did that affect things? Thanks so much for reading and sticking with my recaps this season, and being such great fact checkers I need all the help I can get.
You are all appreciated! In my opinion the end scene was the best finale ending so far because atleast for me it lifted my hopes up after being totally rekt by red wedding. The scene with Arya and the Hound after the Red Wedding is heartbreaking. I loved the Rat Cook story. I could have done without the white savior scene at the end. No thank you.

I was expecting her too ride with her horse like in the books. Mihnea Quote Reply. I fully acknowledge that for a lot of people the scene may carry problematic undertones. Mr Fixit Quote Reply. Vincent Stark Quote Reply. Straight talk: do you think Joe Dempsie was fired?
They went through the trouble of making him Main Cast for season 3, which usually implies a long term stay and implied long term story usage.
Andrew Quote Reply. Vincent Stark : I loved the scene Tywin had with Joffrey. AM NOT. The first 20 minutes were some of the best the show has done to date. The rest of the episode, not so much. Dnis Quote Reply. Will we see what Melisandre truly looks like?
Jack Bauer 24 : New cast interviews. Ice Spider Quote Reply. Out of the 5 seasons this was my favourite finale scene. And the soundtrack is amazing. Hubo Quote Reply. Mihnea : Mr Fixit ,. Well sure, but as I said, some people come from countries where this kind of color-coded savior stuff can be considered problematic, to put it mildly. Everyone in that scene is on fire. On the other hand…. I mean, I think it was as you said, them trying to make some emotional high-point after the low of the Red Wedding.
Not even considering the racial complaints. The Dragon Demands Quote Reply. Just wanted to add that this could also fit the VFX challenge that has been put off for 2 seasons but is supposed to happen in S6. I do think there was some behind the scenes rejiggering between Seasons 3 and 4. Not only Gendry, but I suspect something more was planned for Yara as well. I sincerely doubt they included the scene with Balon and her and had Yara go all dramatic and speechy if they planned for her to show up in for 5 minutes in a single episode next season.
They were filming in Morocco, so when they asked for extras Moroccans showed up. Is it that hard to understand? Great thought. Darkrobin Quote Reply. Loved the final scene of this one, as long as noone starts talking about racism or some bs like that. The music, the visuals, perfect ending scene.
Dragonmcmx Quote Reply. Sue the Fury Quote Reply. Davos and Shireen too. Plenty of very different emotional moments in this season finale. Tyrion Lannister: The disgraced daughter and the demon monkey. I had no desire to get into the subject because I know damn well every one of you already has your minds made up which side of the issue you fall on, when it comes to this particular scene, so what was the point.
Rygritte Quote Reply. Eddhead Quote Reply. I remain hopeful that including the Rat Cook story is the producers hanging the gun for Frey Pies to be served at Red Wedding 2.
This is the first time I had a problem with how the show handled Stannis. Not too fond of Stannis heading north because of Mel…. In fact in my list it is the last It only then that I will say to this lady RIP. I just find it another piece of a wider fantasy story. Also, knowing what we know now about how badly Dany rules, you could interpret this as more being about her hubris, which actually makes the case for the people troubled by the overtones.
Ravyn Quote Reply. I love the pic of the Hound protecting Arya, and I hope they reunite at some point. The season 3 finale was awesome, minus the really stupid final scene.
There are no surprises with her character. Quote Reply. Not because any of the political issues although I understand the argument , but because for me it feels really forced. So yeah, not a fan. But the rest of the episode is great.
I was one of those not happy about the lack of guest rights info in episode 9 so I was very happy to be proved wrong in this episode. Roose is just so damned… humourless…. It is exposition heavy but I love that scene. Mopping up blood in the background while they talk… chills. Final thing — I do wish they had made more of the Robb-wind thing. It was absolutely the most horrifying thing for me in the book and I think they could have milked it a bit more.
But, a minor quibble. Ross Quote Reply. I believe the show has already told us where Gendry is. Why mention the Fingers? Who is from the Fingers?
