Pros: I love the people I work with I love the work that I do. Cons: I dislike the fact that are pay is so low when most other jobs get paid a lot more than we do and we do a lot more work than other jobs plus other jobs give sign on bonuses we don't have that if we would make more an hour I believe we would have more employees that would want to work for the Dollar general company.

Pros Respectful co workers. Cons Long hours, not a good company. Little of advancement little advance ment, low chances to grow, under paid. Customers are very friendly though most of the times and DG has good instore offers. Pros Free Lunches. Cons Lowpay. Excellent management support and employee camaraderie. Management Former Employee - Georgia - November 10, Family atmosphere.

Advancement opportunities are great. I enjoy the customers and the environment overall. Very flexible with schedule and time off requests. Very understanding of personal issues and family emergencies.

The job in itself was not bad, but training was a complete joke. They only wanted someone who could move product as quickly as they could fill the position. I was still in training when I got a point for not coming in on a Sunday.

My schedule was Monday through Friday. The trainer I had in my second week was off three days out of the four I was supposed to work. I was thrown here and there. The classroom training was a complete joke. Every night we were asked what was an interesting fact about ourselves. No real training at all. Pros You can make a little money if that is your thing.

Cons You get no real training before they throw you to the wolves. I really enjoyed this job if it wasn't for moving stars I'd definitely still be working there. The customers were even very kind to the employees it was a very enjoyable job aside from having no benefits and never getting promoted.

Pros Low stress, best co workers, flexible. Cons No benefits, hard to be promoted. You get paid well, but you also average around 30 hours a week, the supervisors are never around when you need them, and now I know why no one stays here, one of the supervisor made me paranoid by basically stalking people, overall terrible.

Pros Money, sometimes free lunch. Cons Poor management, bad hours, bad work environment. Overall it was a great job not bad at all awesome for anyone looking to gain retail experience. Pros Flexible. Cons Pay. I was a LSA that transferred from a different state.

I was hired on full time, as they were short staffed due to an outbreak of Covid. Once their regular staff came back, I was fired along with another worker. The SM didn't even tell us we were fired. There were "no hours".

We were also blacklisted from neighboring stores. I didn't find out I was fired until my k paperwork came in and said I had left the company. Pros Easy work. Cons Horrible managers, horrible customers, outdated computer system.

Very un, there people coping skills where bad bad production line no one helps eachother it is so crammed up people are bumping into ea other there never all the cash registers open there's always only one person so it takes forever because the lines are so long.

Pros Thirty minute brake. Cons Healthcare. The company is the absolute worst! I loved my job, but the company only cares if they had a body in the store to keep the doors open. Not recommending. Pros Freedom, never the same routine. Cons Short staff, long hours and bad pay. Working at Dollar General can be a unique experience to anyone that enjoys Customer Service!

You are kept quite busy with restocking items , cleaning, customer service and fronting items to assure the store is well kept. I recommend to anyone thinking about joining Dollar General to be prepared to work but at the same time have some fun while you are doing it. Stores are dirty, shelves are usually empty, and there is always product blocking the aisles.

The employees get no credit or acknowledgment except when the customers complain--then it's always the employees' fault. For one ; they don't even open on the store on time , hardly ever. Two ; the employees are lazy and set on there phone. And three ; The manager should be charged willl sexual conduct , he can can't take his eyes or hand of them young girls.

I'm so upset about this ,". I have witnessed employees targeted for termination by wasting valuable resources and time creating speculation and false statements to remove unwanted employees. I voluntarily resigned because of the unprofessional and unethical practices at this company,". Company Menu Dollar General.
